We are looking for Bukovinian State Medical University internship graduates majoring in family medicine, therapy, and pediatrics to participate in the study!
Human capital is the foundation of the healthcare system. Therefore, one of the essential activities of our project is developing and strengthening the human healthcare capacity in Ukraine.
We believe it is crucial to be guided by data and analytics when planning human capital in the healthcare system. Among many other sources of data, qualitative and quantitative surveys are among the most important, as they provide a better understanding of the human resources situation in the country.
Without a human resources registry in Ukraine, we need a more comprehensive understanding of the effectiveness of investments in medical education. In particular, it needs to be clarified what proportion of medical graduates remain in the medical profession and what proportion leaves the profession despite the years spent on medical education.
To better understand the situation with human capital, last year, we launched a study of the career trajectories of Bukovinian State Medical University graduates and internship graduates majoring in family medicine, therapy, and pediatrics. Similar studies are conducted in many countries. But this will be the first such study in Ukraine.
The study will help us understand where graduates work after completing their internships and what motivates them to stay in the profession or change their specialty. Understanding these processes is necessary to effectively plan medical education and further medical care. In addition, the study will help us better understand the educational needs of graduates who already have work experience and feel what they lacked during their studies.
Part of the survey has already been implemented, but we are looking for respondents for a focus group discussion. A focus group is a qualitative research method, a group interview organized as a conversation between several people, usually 6–12 people, on a given topic.
Therefore, we invite graduates of the BSMU internship in family medicine, therapy, and pediatrics who are not working in the profession for various reasons to participate in the study. If you are ready to participate in the focus group online or offline, please fill out the Google form at the link — https://forms.gle/1JuR7cyjYhoyLgiX9.
If you have any questions about the study, please write to us at this email address: snizhana.darievska@mededu.org.ua or in the comments below the post.
And we will be grateful for sharing this post to find our respondents faster!
