Dear friends, we are pleased to announce that our Project has successfully passed the external evaluation. This means that we will continue to develop medical education in Ukraine and drive improvements in healthcare together with you!
The Ukrainian-Swiss project “Medical Education Development” is implemented in Ukraine by the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) with the financial support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). The first four-year phase of the project started in December 2018. The project is being implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, focusing on the priorities that have been set to ensure the effectiveness of medical education and meet the existing health needs in Ukraine.

During the evaluation process, independent experts interviewed 35 partners, representatives of HEIs and other parties involved in the Project. Several interviews were conducted before the full-scale russian invasion, the vast majority of conversations were conducted online during May 2022. The interviews were aimed at obtaining information from the respondents and assessing the relevance of the Project, its effectiveness, impact on the development of medical education in Ukraine, as well as the results.
We are pleased that all respondents highly appreciated the mission of the Project and its role in the development of medical education in Ukraine, felt the real impact and warmly spoke about the team. We would like to add that we will continue our fruitful cooperation with the pilot HEIs and strengthen their capacity to provide quality human resources in healthcare. Our attention will also be focused on human resources, which we develop through the training of medical managers, educators and students of medical universities, as well as primary health care professionals. We will aim to implement policy-level improvements to transform the national medical education system.
We, like you, believe in the success of the Project, and we are very grateful to all of you for helping us to implement important changes. We improve all our activities every day for your sake. To victory with new strength!
