Have you read an anthology of the executed renaissance, compiled by Yuri Lavrynenko in 1959?
Don’t be surprised by this question; it’s just that the first episode of the podcast “Tangible med education” —> https://li.sten.to/szpqi0hb, which we recorded with Bohdana Neborak, Ukrainian journalist, lawyer, cultural manager, literary critic, and host of the podcast “Yet untitled,” is already available.
We made our first episode as one that provokes you to think about why doctors need culture. We suggest you ask yourself this question and try to answer it before listening to the episode. Of course, the question about the anthology of the executed renaissance is not the only one we have prepared for you. In the conversation between Mychailo Wynnyckyj and Bohdana, you will hear several unpredictable theses that will not have unambiguous answers.
We suggest you think about a few of them now:
- Culture and intelligentsia are irreplaceable and necessary components of the community. Are doctors representatives of the intelligentsia? Can a doctor be considered a barometer of society? What role do doctors play in society?
- Medical education focuses on the human being primarily from a physiological point of view, but does medical education belong to the category of classical education? What is classical education, and how does it allow us to understand the world better?
- Can we say that medical specialists are a kind of craftsmen?
- If a medical specialist wants to increase his social capital or has the desire to form communities. Where and how is it better to do it?
- The element of death is present in a culture quite often. What are the images of doctors in literature, cinema, and culture? Can literature help doctors or patients better understand death?
- What is passed from generation to generation in the family dynasties of doctors? Love for the profession? A particular way of thinking? Meaningful and conscious ethics?
- What is the creative beginning of the medical profession? What can a medical professional develop in interaction with art?
Hence, in this episode, you will hear enough thorny and extraordinary questions that can lead to even more interesting conclusions. We wish you inspired listening and sharing the list of literature.
