On February 8 and 9, Lviv hosted the first in a series of management training workshops for new pilot medical higher education institutions on the topic of “Strategic Development of Medical Education.”
Representatives of Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University and Zaporizhzhya State Medical and Pharmaceutical University attended the training workshop. These higher education institutions were selected as a pilot in Phase II of our project, so attending these educational events is a mandatory step to start working with us. We are glad to welcome the newcomers and wish them fruitful work!
The training workshop was conducted by Matviy Khrenov, an expert and co-founder of the Ukrainian Healthcare Center (UHC), and Tetiana Nemyrovych, an organizational development consultant and facilitator.
“Awareness of trends in the development of society, Ukraine, and the world is essential for strategizing and forming a vision for the institution’s development. What will the demographic situation be like in 5-10 years? What about the security situation? How will health trends and aging trends affect education in general? These issues will remain with us for years to come, and we must adapt to the realities,” said Khrenov during his presentation.
“Strategizing is a tool for moving from “what is now?” to the vision of “what are we striving for?”. Identifying priority areas of development in the process of strategizing helps to be consistent, optimize the use of resources, realize their limitations, and monitor the implementation of planned steps. Involvement of employees in building the strategy unites the team, strengthens relationships, eliminates conflicts, and reveals existing differences in views on development,” emphasizes Tetiana Nemyrovych in her speech.
At the training workshop, representatives of the higher education institutions reviewed basic strategic concepts and methods, discussed how to apply the knowledge gained to their projects, and learned how to identify problems and find solutions to them effectively.
