Help Improve Training on Accessibility — Take Part in the Survey
Поділитися
Together with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, we are conducting a survey among healthcare professionals — doctors, nurses, and medical assistants from all levels of care, from primary to specialized — to better understand their training needs in communication with patients, tolerance, inclusive language, and empathy.
The goal of the survey is to identify what knowledge and skills healthcare workers may lack in daily communication with patients, in order to improve training programs and make the healthcare system more open, empathetic, and accessible.
Why is this important?
Effective communication between healthcare professionals and patients is the foundation of quality healthcare. It affects diagnostic accuracy, adherence to treatment plans, and patients’ psychological well-being. When people feel heard, understood, and respected, they are more likely to follow medical advice, feel satisfied with their treatment, and trust the healthcare system.
During the war, the importance of accessibility — including sensitive communication — has grown even more. Every day, healthcare workers provide care to people who have experienced loss, live with disabilities or chronic conditions, or require special attention. This calls not only for professional expertise, but also for strong communication and emotional skills.
Training in tolerance, sensitive language, empathy, and self-regulation helps healthcare professionals support patients while reducing their own stress levels and preventing professional burnout.
