It’s time to share some great news!

The National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, with the support of the Project and the Ukrainian Healthcare Centre (UHC), is launching a new Master’s program, “Management in Healthcare”. Details at the link —> https://bit.ly/42kJGO8

Why is the new Master’s program timely?

Constant changes in the healthcare system of Ukraine and the expanded autonomy of healthcare institutions increase the demand for competent management to facilitate the development of autonomous institutions. Good management skills are essential for engaging staff, establishing processes, and advocating for necessary changes.

It is well known that good governance positively impacts the quality of outcomes in hospitals. Ensuring the quality of service at the facility level requires a wide range of management knowledge and skills of the management team. A competent doctor only sometimes knows how to manage a facility, system, or other organization. That is, clinical competence is different from managerial competence.

In April-May 2019, the Ukrainian-Swiss project “Medical Education Development” surveyed healthcare managers —> http://surl.li/gxaec to identify the most pressing competencies for them to work in the reformed context. Among the mentioned knowledge and skills are financial management, setting up the service component of the service, but also legal aspects, human resource management, etc. Considering the gaps identified by managers, we are designing the content of the Master’s program.

Given the massive demand in the healthcare system for a new type of leadership and a set of competencies in management and administration at all levels, we offer a new master’s program in form and content. We do not disclose all the plans simultaneously but will gradually share the details.

What awaits you:
