The team of the Ukrainian-Swiss MED Project visited the headquarters of the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) in Basel.
The visit took place on October 6–9, and the team was represented by Tetiana Chernysh, Project Manager from the Ukrainian side; Vitalii Zaiets, Digitalization in Education Coordinator; and Olena Okhotnikova, Financial Director.
The main purpose of the visit was to jointly align and plan the strategic, financial, and organizational priorities for the project’s third year of implementation, as well as to discuss next steps for collaboration. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Martin Raab, Project Director, Swiss TPH.
During several days of meetings, the team engaged with key partners working at the institute, including Christoph Pimmer, Joachim Pelikan (they kindly performed with their workshops on the use of artificial intelligence in medical education and personalized learning with Moodle respectively), Dragos Dobre, and Patrick Delcroix (consultants on cybersecurity and automated management systems). Together we discussed a wide range of topics — from the development of IT infrastructure and administrative processes to the integration of AI in education and modern learning approaches.
The project team returned to Ukraine inspired and full of new ideas. We are delighted to have synchronized our joint actions with partners, exchanged valuable experience, and are now ready — with renewed energy — to implement the best European practices in the training of future doctors in Ukraine.
