Results of the Steering Committee of the project “Medical Education Development”

On 1 November 2023, a meeting of the Steering Committee of the Medical Education Development Project was held in Kyiv. 

 The primary purpose of such meetings is to analyze the achievements and coordinate our actions for the future. We all must work in partnership to help higher education institutions and primary healthcare professionals improve the quality of medical care. 

 Following the meeting, our project, the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, and its partners agreed on several activities and plans for the next four years.  

 We thank everyone who came and participated online and shared their thoughts, suggestions, and results.  

 “It is important that the level of healthcare services and qualifications of medical professionals in Ukraine meet the best international standards. For our part, we are actively promoting international dialogue with the Ministry of Health of Ukraine,” said Martin Raab, project leader of the Ukrainian-Swiss Medical Education Development Project. 

 “We will continue our previous activities, such as peer groups or working with medical universities. However, our project has entered Phase II, and we want to focus on new plans. 

 Digitalization is essential for higher education institutions; patient data privacy is highly relevant to primary care physicians. Our project can provide high-quality training in these areas,” says Tetiana Chernysh, Head of the Office of the Ukrainian-Swiss Medical Education Development Project. 

 It is also essential for us to organize and hold large-scale events because nothing can replace the synergy and productivity of live meetings. 

 As the saying goes, it is not worth looking ahead, but we hope the Second Autumn School will be held in 2024.
