Pilot HEIs are working on strategies for the development of simulation centers

The Ukrainian-Swiss project “Development of Medical Education,” have launched a new series of training sessions for pilot higher medical education institutions—this time focusing on strategic planning for simulation centers.
The first training, “Strategy for the Development of a Simulation Center,” took place on 21-22 January in Zhytomyr. Teams from Zhytomyr Medical Institute and Lviv Medical Academy named after Andrei Krupynskyi participated, including representatives from the administration, leaders, and trainers of simulation centers.
Simulation-based training is more than just equipment or new facilities. It is a system that includes a holistic approach: from values to training scenarios, from integration into educational programs to the professional development of instructors. A simulation center is a tool for the development of the entire higher education institution, and that is why it requires its own strategy.
Over the course of two days, participants analyzed the resources of their centers, formulated value propositions, identified target audiences, communication channels, and potential partners. The training was led by Matviy Khrenov, co-founder of the Ukrainian Healthcare Center (UHC), a manager, and an expert in strategic planning.
The work does not end here: support for the teams in the following stages will be provided by Nataliia Starynska—a certified project manager and facilitator. She will help structure the work done during the training and finalize the strategic plans.
Ahead—more training sessions for other pilot institutions. We continue to support changes in medical education and create an environment where strategy is not just a formality, but a tool for development.
