The Swiss-Ukrainian project “Medical Education Development” has launched a free online course on the Skovoroda platform — “Medical Education as a System: The Strategic Role of the Teacher.”
The course is part of an educational program designed for university lecturers in medical education — doctors and nurses — who do not have formal pedagogical training.
The developers and coordinators of the program are Olha Bershadska, educational consultant, trainer of trainers and facilitators, mentor, designer of complex long-term educational programs, and consultant for the Swiss–Ukrainian project “Medical Education Development,” and Olena Ihnashchuk, medical education coordinator of the same project.
Experts in medical education, university lecturers, and specialists in adult learning also contributed to the development of the course materials.
The course “Medical Education as a System: The Strategic Role of the Teacher” helps educators better understand how the medical education system works, what influences student learning, and how they can contribute to positive change.
It also invites teachers to view their role not only as a professional duty but as a meaningful career path filled with opportunities, inspiration, and growth.
Among the lecturers are both Ukrainian and international experts in medical education: Wim Groot, Janet Grant, Olena Ihnashchuk, Tetiana Chernysh, Natalia Starynska, Olha Bershadska, Anastasiia Khodan, Ihor Zastavnyi, and Orest Suvalo.
After completing the course and successfully passing all tasks and tests, participants will receive a certificate.
