Online presentation of ABC of clinical skills of PHC provider

The Ukrainian-Swiss Project “Medical Education Development,” together with the Academy of Family Medicine of Ukraine (AFMU) and its partners, has systematized and developed a list of clinical skills that are key at the primary level of healthcare at the team level – the ABC of clinical skills of PHC provider. 

 In recent years, we have developed the idea from a simple list of skills to a “periodic table” and added many valuable materials.  

This document can be the first and most important step in improving educational programs and standards in primary health care in Ukraine.

 Historical overview 

 Initially, in 2020, we just wanted to list equipment for the simulation centers of the pilot higher education institutions working with our project. This initiative would allow students to practice the skills contributing to their readiness to work in primary care. To our great surprise, we saw no such lists in the country. Then, we devised the idea of compiling a list with our partners and preparing materials for distribution to a broad audience.
