School of Non-Medical Education

We are pleased to announce that the call for applications for the 2024 School of Non-Medical Education is now open.

We are sure that the word “non-medical” arouses your interest, so we will tell you in detail. We are convinced that the role of medical education is not only in teaching purely professional medical knowledge and skills but also in the formation of specialists with an active professional and civic position. This is embedded in the idea of the School of Non-Medical Education, which is focused on the humanitarian component, the expansion of the worldview, the development of critical thinking, and a broader understanding of ethics.

The agenda of the School of Non-Medical Education consists of three thematic sessions, with a 4-week break between each session. Each session is focused on a specific topic and includes lectures, interactive activities, and homework. Ukrainian Healthcare Center (UHC) co-founders Pavlo Kovtonyuk, Matviy Khrenov, and Natalia Riabtseva will moderate the sessions.

The School of Non-Medical Education will take place from May 16-18, June 13-15, and July 11-13. The venue for the event is Lviv.

We encourage you to apply as soon as possible using the following URL: https://bit.ly/48PXbIl. The application deadline is March 30, 2024, and the selection results will be announced on April 20. We will select 30 motivated educators from medical and nursing higher education institutions.

The organizers will cover the costs of participation in the event, accommodation, and meals (breakfasts, coffee breaks, and lunches). However, participants will have to cover their own travel, dinners, and personal expenses.

Please note that participation in all planned activities and completion of homework are mandatory conditions for receiving a certificate of successful completion of the School, which will be issued after the end of the third session of the School. If you fail to join one of the sessions or complete the homework, and thus you will not receive a certificate of successful completion of the School. Kindly book these dates in your calendar with high hopes of being selected.
