Intensive educational course for the development of nurses` competencies

In April-May 2024, the Ukrainian-Swiss project “Medical Education Development” is organizing an intensive educational course for the development of nurses’ competencies in Zhytomyr. Nurses from the project’s pilot institutions working in primary health care will take part in the events.

At the Intensive, the trainers present the concept of a nurse with an expanded role: goals, models, and strategies for implementing the concept, and digital tools used to conduct primary care appointments. Nurses will also have the opportunity to practice providing basic clinical skills relevant to primary care practice: ECG, otoscopy, dermatoscopy, and Basic Life Support.

Participants will learn more about communication techniques and crisis communication with patients, the use of psychosocial interventions, and the management of the most common chronic diseases.
