{"id":894,"date":"2021-07-01T16:18:43","date_gmt":"2021-07-01T13:18:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mededu.org.ua\/?post_type=news&#038;p=894"},"modified":"2023-09-30T11:33:08","modified_gmt":"2023-09-30T08:33:08","slug":"the-swiss-government-has-invested-3-million-uah-in-the-center-of-simulation-medicine-in-bukovinian-medical-university-commencing-the-laboratory-for-training-of-family-doctors","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/mededu.org.ua\/en\/news\/the-swiss-government-has-invested-3-million-uah-in-the-center-of-simulation-medicine-in-bukovinian-medical-university-commencing-the-laboratory-for-training-of-family-doctors\/","title":{"rendered":"The season of Clinical Skills Laboratories opening is over"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Swiss government has invested 3 million UAH through the Ukrainian-Swiss Project \u201cMedical Education Development\u201d in the opening of a new Laboratory of Clinical Skills for family doctors at the Bukovinian State Medical University.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Clinical Skills Laboratory will allow students and interns to practice medical skills on special simulation manikins in conditions as close as possible to working with real patients. The center is equipped to allow doctors and nurses to improve their skills both individually and as a team.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Clinical Skills Laboratory, where future and practicing family doctors will be trained, consists of three simulation rooms.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Room 1 is for medical skills training. It is equipped with cameras, microphones, medical equipment, and manikins of human body parts (arms, legs, buttocks), connectable to a computer.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Room 2 is where the instructor and professor provide instructions from, thus supervising the training process.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Room 3 is for students and supervisors to watch the recorded video of performed manipulations, detecting flaws and emphasizing successes.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cSince 2019, we have been investing in the development of medical education in Ukraine. Our goal is high-quality modern primary healthcare in Ukraine, which is possible due to the strengthening of education. Therefore, we are pleased to present this Laboratory, equipped with manikins, cameras, microphones. The material component of the Laboratory is important, but it is not the only part of improving the quality of medical education. The project constantly invests in professors&#8217; skills, IT, and other resources, such as literature, knowledge of English \u2014 which essentially constitute a quality education in medical universities in Ukraine\u201d,\u00a0 says Tatiana Stepurko, project office manager of the Ukrainian-Swiss Project.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Swiss government, through the Ukrainian-Swiss project \u201cMedical Education Development\u201d, pays great attention to strengthening the education of general practitioners and nurses at the primary care level in Ukraine. That is why the Project is primarily working on the development of simulation training for future family doctors and nurses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe opening of a simulation laboratory for the training of family doctors is a very important and necessary step for both higher medical education and practical healthcare. Such a laboratory is currently the only one in the Chernivtsi oblast. Owing to the cooperation of the Ukrainian-Swiss project \u201cDevelopment of Medical Education &#8221; and the Bukovinian State Medical University, family doctors of our region will be able to improve their professional skills, acquire new ones.
