{"id":6263,"date":"2025-04-04T18:46:19","date_gmt":"2025-04-04T15:46:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mededu.org.ua\/?post_type=news&#038;p=6263"},"modified":"2025-04-11T18:48:16","modified_gmt":"2025-04-11T15:48:16","slug":"peer-group-facilitators-networking-2-0-a-space-of-trust-and-inspiration","status":"publish","type":"news","link":"https:\/\/mededu.org.ua\/en\/news\/peer-group-facilitators-networking-2-0-a-space-of-trust-and-inspiration\/","title":{"rendered":"Peer Group Facilitators\u2019 Networking 2.0: A Space of Trust and Inspiration"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cSpace of trust,\u201d \u201ca day of inspiration,\u201d \u201ca meeting of like-minded people.\u201d No, we\u2019re not just listing pretty phrases\u2014these are real reflections from peer group facilitators about the networking event that took place last Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>We started the day with a conversation with <strong>Illia Poludionnyi<\/strong>, psychotherapist and author of <em>In Simple Words<\/em> and <em>What Is It Like, the War?<\/em>. We talked about empathy in healthcare\u2014how to be fully present during a consultation, maintain sensitivity, and at the same time take care of one\u2019s own boundaries.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cThe author explained when a doctor\u2019s empathy can lead to burnout and when\u2014on the contrary\u2014it helps to avoid it. It\u2019s all about the balance. Sometimes patients may overstep\u2014messaging on social media or calling outside working hours. That\u2019s exactly when it\u2019s important to know how to stand your ground,\u201d<\/em> shared family doctor Tetiana Baida.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<style>\n\t.slickslider li a img {\n\t\tdisplay: group sessions. As part of the Empathy and Humanity Workshop, participants explored the Calgary\u2013Cambridge model of consultation, confidentiality in medical practice, the N.U.R.S.E. model of empathetic support, boundary-setting, personal resource renewal, and much more.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most emotionally resonant parts of the day was the performance by the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/playbacktheatredp\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">\u201cSusidy\u201d Playback Theatre<\/a><\/strong>. This improvisational show highlighted the moments in life when someone nearby needs special attention, care, and empathy\u2014sometimes from a medical professional.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cTheir performance is pure improvisation based on our life stories. Different, deep stories\u2014ones that make you laugh, cry, and ache.\u00a0<\/em><em>One story that struck me was about endless prescription lists given to a patient. The actors took a brief anecdote and brought it to life with such sensitivity that it gave me goosebumps,\u201d<\/em> recalled family doctor Nadiia Ishchuk.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>We\u2019d like to wrap up with the words of family doctor and facilitator Tetiana Remeniak, because nothing sums up the day better than the voices of the participants themselves:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cEvery time I catch myself thinking how amazing it is to be part of this community. Every conversation recharges me, fills me with new ideas, and expands our shared bubble of wonderful people.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>We\u2019re deeply grateful to the peer group facilitators <strong>Anastasiia Hibeskul<\/strong>, <strong>Maryna Opalenko<\/strong>, <strong>Olena Lemeshko<\/strong>, and <strong>Anna Ostafiichuk<\/strong>, who moderated the sessions and made
